We arrived home on December 29th and man has time flown by! Although we have only been home a few short months things have been busy, busy, busy. Lets catch up a bit.. first lets rewind to December 25th... We stayed for Christmas and had the opportunity to give over 3,000 kids from the surrounding villages a goody bag with gifts and snacks and each one a chicken dinner with a coke. It was kind of hard to believe that it was Christmas since it was so hot, but we managed to get into the Christmas spirit and help Iris give these kids a good day. (our family same some AMAZING carols that you can find HERE ) We had and amazing Christmas dinner on the 26th and prepared to take off on the 28th... The kids were more than excited to be on their way home to the states With a sprint in the JoBerg airport and a missed flight & lost luggage in New York we finally made it to San Francisco the afternoon of the 29th, finally arriving at our destination (Erics parents house) late that night. It was so great to see our families in real life -not just on a computer screen.- It was also nice to have a HOT shower for the first time in 3 months. We have done a few things since we have been home just for fun... Since we have been home we have been asked to come and be a part of the team at the Iris Ministries base in Dondo Mozambique, this base is located in the central part of the country. We were first introduced to this base the second week of school and our hearts were immediately drawn to the ministry opportunities in this region. We will be returning to Africa in April 2014 (next month) with one way tickets and a bunch of suitcases. So this past month I have been selling everything we own and preparing for our life in Mozambique, ==the 3 totes against the wall are what we're saving for Africa..== One awesome thing that we have done is- knowing that we may be gone for a while- we were able to get some awesome family photos done with my family and Erics family... The photos were done by an amazing friend Christian Cerdan you can see his information HERE Check this out To see more photos from this visit our photo gallery We have been so blessed by everyone and their prayers and support, we are now just in the process of selling one final thing before we purchase our tickets and apply for our visas to head back over. We have never been to Dondo but we are very excited about what we will be doing. For more information on what that is please take a look at our What we do page. One final photo... I know it doesn't seem like much but I am excited to have my own house while I am in Africa and so very blessed for the opportunity to serve the country of Mozambique..
